The corporate blog I have chosen to write about is none other than the prestigious New York Times. This newspaper has always had a very high standard for who reads their paper. Most of the time the people who read this paper is very well educated and very wealthy because it can relate to their lives.
When first looking at this web page you think of how the look of the site is in direct comparison to what the paper looks like, even the font is the same. After you get past the general appearance of the blog site you tend to focus more on the structure of all the information. Each topic very broadly set up in an organized link to find the related links. Then after the broad topics you will find that there is a more direct themed link system at the top. The links include: World, US, N.Y./Region, Business, Technology, Science, Health, Sports, Opinion, Arts, Style, and Travel. Each of these helps people to better their search for their required area of search. All of these items help to organize the purpose of this site which is to find information in a more organized and simple manor.
The overall design of this blog site is very well set up and designed like the newspaper, but could that be the downfall of this site? By looking more closely at the design of the page you will notice the plain quality of the style and its dull organization. I personally do not care for this blog site. I think that the organization is very poorly designed and not interesting to look at. If it were me I would do something to update the style of the site to incorporate the new style that this world has seemed to uphold, which is professionalism.
The one main thing I do feel that this site does well is the ability for people to be able to comment on the blogs that have been posted. This gives a better connection to the news that is being given to the public and will help them to stay connected and in favor of reading this high quality news media. At the same time though the ability to comment on blogs is a very noticeable trait of the personal blogs and I think that is why so many people are attracted to the site. It helps to bring every aspect of the news and the people together and without that there would be no point in having a blog site to begin with.
